Apple Day - October 2016

We know many of you have had bumper crops this year, so bring your own apples along to our Apple Day on Sunday 2nd October 2016 11am-4pm and have them pressed into juice for you to take home. As always, PLEASE bring along a container to carry your juice home.
There will be plenty of pressing going on during the day and refreshments will be available. They'll even be some mini hot air ballons to give the day a lift. Of course, entrance is always free. See poster below for more details.

Apple Day - October 2013

After the poor crop of 2012, 2013 was a much improved year for the humble apple and so we picked like we've never picked before. We had pressing sessions late into the evenings to produce a good supply of fresh 100% apple juice. We had everything planned, all but for the weather!

Past years have seen us pressing apples on our Apple Day wearing T-shirts and remarking how warm it is for an October day. This year was a tad different! Having said that, we pressed on (pun very much intended) and were greeted by a hardy crowd of supporters who turned up dressed for the occasion and despite the wet stuff, a great day was had by all.

If you missed the fun there are a few pictures below, and don't forget your supplies of fresh 100% apple juice which will be availablein the Barn Café until supplies run dry.

Apple Day 2012

2012 saw another successful annual Apple Day despite the poor conditions producing few apples - it takes more than a shortage of apples to stop the Friends holding an Apple Day!

Despite a foggy start to the morning, by the time we were scratting and pressing our first batch the sun was shining and the apple juice was flowing. With visitors queuing to mash and press their own fruit they had brought from their gardens (or the local supermarket!) you'd have forgotten that there was supposed to be a shortage this year!

With plenty of stalls to peruse, a bird box to make not to mention the longest peel competition and the old favourite of apple bobbing there was hardly time for a bacon sarnie from the Barn Café!

See you all in 2013 for more of the same? Thought so..

Our thanks to Cadbury Heath School and Reception class for the fantastic 'apple' tree and the wonderful apple themed bunting!
